Pharma marketers aren’t the holdouts they’re sometimes made out to be. In CapeStart’s GenAI research, 91% of respondents identified AI as a key enabler. The friction is downstream: more than half report they lack the support to actually integrate it.

Which means the advantage won’t go to whoever adopts first. It’ll go to whoever figures out what to do with it.

In this episode of Pharma Talks, Viseven CEO Nataliya Andreychuk spoke with Dan Atieh, Head of eWizard, about where the industry actually stands.

No Strategy Means Doing Bad Marketing Faster

The 1800s gold rush rewarded people who dug in the right place with the right tools. Speed mattered, but only after that. Content production works the same way — pushing out weaker material more quickly doesn’t build engagement or loyalty, it just produces more of what wasn’t working.

Dan’s position is that speed to market is the wrong headline metric. What matters is content that’s compliant, personalized, and built to be reused: modular and structured, holding consistent across global and local teams.

Compliance Bottlenecks Exist for a Reason

Plenty of companies adopt AI expecting MLR review to accelerate, then hit the same wall and the same volume of revision requests. The reason is usually that the tooling has no regulatory intelligence built into it — it’s fast, but it doesn’t know what it’s producing.

“Many companies still struggle because they lack integrated regulatory intelligence,” Dan points out.

The fix isn’t more speed. It’s predictability and accuracy — tools that understand pharma compliance frameworks well enough to flag risk before it reaches a reviewer. In practice that looks like surfacing compliance errors during creation rather than after submission, and accounting for the fact that requirements differ by market.

Two Paths, One That Compounds

The first path pushes automation to its limit: publish faster than competitors and treat quality and compliance as friction to be minimized. The second treats quality and compliance as the design constraint, and lets speed emerge from a process that isn’t constantly doubling back.

The episode’s argument is that the second path is what keeps customers returning — a personalized, compliant, omnichannel experience with actual value in it. AI supports that, but only for companies willing to listen to what their audiences want rather than assuming they already know.
